John Penrose, MP and Minister for Tourism and Heritage, will be the keynote speaker for the opening of the Leaders in Racing conference held on the 6th October 2011 at Chelsea FC.

John Penrose was elected as MP for Weston-super-Mare in 2005 and again in 2010. In May 2010, Prime Minister David Cameron appointed Penrose as the Government’s Tourism & Heritage Minister overseeing, amongst a wider a ministerial brief, licensing, gambling and horseracing. During his career in parliament, John has worked with Ken Clarke as Shadow Business Minister, as the Joint Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Further Education & Lifelong Learning and on the Work and Pensions Select Committee.
