Hornby serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Coral. Previously, Hornby served as the Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Boots Holdings Limited from July 2009 to 2011. Before joining Alliance Boots, He served as Chief Executive Officer of HBOS since 2006 and served as the architect of the merger with Lloyds TSB. Hornby currently serves as Director of Gala Coral Group Limited. He has been Non-Executive Chairman at Pharmacy2U Ltd since June 2012. He serves on the board of Home Retail Group and as a Member of Advisory Board of The Leoni Sceti Group. He also boasts a degree from Oxford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Steve Harman

Steve has had an extremely illustrious career in the oil and gas industry working for Royal Dutch Shell in positions across Europe, Asia and the Americas, and has extensive experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders and government organisations. He has sat on various corporate Boards whilst holding a variety of executive and non-executive positions across the world. He has been a racehorse owner for over 20 years and currently has many horses in training through various partnerships. He was appointed the Chairman of the British Horseracing Authority in March 2013.


George Strawbridge

Strawbridge is the Owner and President of Augustin Stables, which have been described as the most successful steeplechase operation of all time. Augustin's runners have earned more than $8.7-million, double that of their closest competitors. Strawbridge is also a Private Investor and adjunct Professor of Latin American History and Political Science at Widener University. His principal occupation includes President of GAR Inc., and Margaret Dorrance Strawbridge Foundation of PA 1 Inc. In previous years Strawbridge served as a Director of Campbell Soup Co., Delaware Trust Company, Corestates Financial Corp. and Meridian Bancorp Inc.

Marc Reeves is the International Commercial Director of the NFL, where he oversees marketing, fan development, sponsorship and commercial efforts for the league outside of the US. Under his leadership, the league has increased its international sponsorship base by over 60%. He has launched numerous fan engagement initiatives including global Super Bowl viewing events, NFL Experience on Tour and a social media “Fanbassador” programme. Prior to joining the NFL, Reeves was a Vice President of IMG’s consulting division. He oversaw and managed numerous corporate client accounts, including Visa, Electronic Arts, Kia Motors, 2K Sports, 24 Hour Fitness, Crown Plaza Hotels and Safeco Insurance.

Mullin is currently the chairman and CEO of The Aspire Group, a leading global management and marketing consulting business that focuses on producing winning brands, revenue enhancement and strong sales and service cultures. Mullin was formerly the CEO Atlanta Hawks (NBA), Atlanta Thrashers (NHL) and Philips Arena; SVP- Marketing and Team Business at the NBA; SVP Business at MLB’s Colorado Rockies and Pittsburgh Pirates to name a few.

Jean- Christope Giletta has 25 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry. He spent 9 years at IMG Paris in the marketing and sales of various sporting events and classical music events. Giletta’s production of live shows continued within the Stade de France where he served for 11 years as programming and development Manager and Deputy Director, followed by a further 3 years as the Chief Operating Officer of the StadeFrance Live Events company. Since October 2012 Giletta has been the Deputy Managing Director of France Galop where his responsibilities include modernising horse racing in France and widening its appeal.

Benedict Forndran

Benedict Forndran worked for the French totaliser, and market leader, Paris Mutuel Urbaine (PMU) for eight years as International Sales Manager for Central and Northern Europe, Turkey, Israel, Australia and New Zealand. In 2010, he secured an annual betting revenue of around EUR 9.3 billion for PMU. It was during this period that he became closely connected with German racing, global betting products and the technical developments of Tote betting. Baden Racing – with Infront Sports & Media a majority shareholder – took over the bankrupt ‘Internationaler Club’ in 2010, and Forndran has helped to make it a huge success.

Rian du Plessis joined Phumelela as its Group Chief Executive in 2008 and under him the organisation based in South Africa has continued to grow and post record earnings. Based originally on tote and individual betting on horse racing, but which has expanded across the globe and now includes football and rugby betting. Plessis showed his ability to judge the market by expanding the betting arm of Phumelela into football odds as horserace gambling in South Africa began to decline. Prior to joining Phumelela, Du Plessis was the Chairman of the Comparex Group where he managed the turnaround of Comparex in Europe within 19 months.

Phil Siers was appointed Managing Director of Totepool at Betfred in 2012, Previously, he was Managing Director for the Licensed Betting Office (LBO) division of media and satellite services firm Satellite Information Services (SIS) Limited. Under the brand Totesport, TotePool currently operates across every racecourse in the UK and is available in 8,500 retail outlets nationwide. It’s the only organisation in the UK authorised to run pool betting. As managing director of the LBO at SIS, Siers gained a reputation for strong strategic management. His review of the business, moved SIS into new sectors; successfully moved EBITDA over in two years, and launched 3 new TV channels.


Brendan Parnell

Brendan Parnell began his broadcasting career as a news and sports reporter and producer in regional television, including Seven Network, Queensland, where he was network sports editor. He joined the Sky channel in 1995 and, in 2003, became General Manager, Broadcasting, overseeing the internationalisation of betting, and the delicate task of co-mingling with multiple jurisdictions. Sky Racing covers almost 80,000 horse races per year, and currently broadcasts 18 hours a day of continuous live racing via single stream channels and multi view channels; one million web videos streamed per month.

Lord Michael Howard

The former Conservative Party leader took the reins as Chairman of Northern Racing in 2008 after the acquisition of the company by the Reuben Brothers. He became Chairman of ARC, the largest racecourse group in the UK, following a merger between Northern Racing and Arena Leisure Plc, which now operates 15 UK racecourses and hosts 39% of the UK’s annual horseracing fixtures. Lord Howard has been a strong advocate of horseracing since the 1990’s when he oversaw the Conservative Government’s relationship with the racing industry.


Rod Street

Street is Chief Executive of Racing Enterprises Limited, Great British Racing and British Champions Series Limited. He was formerly Group Managing Director of Northern Racing PLC - helping to build the business to become the UK's second largest racecourse operator and led the company to its flotation on AIM in 2003. Rod has served on various boards of the broadcaster At the Races, the Racecourse Association and numerous racing industry bodies. Street was Chairman of the Professional Jockeys Association until April 2011. Previously Rod worked in the leisure and overseas travel industries and has also served as a mentor for the Prince's Trust. Rod has shares in horses in training with Jeremy Gask.


Rachel Hood
Racehorse Owners Association

Rachel Hood is best known as an English classic-winning thoroughbred racehorse owner. Besides this she is a lawyer, district and town councillor and in 2011 was elected president of the Racehorse Owners Association. She is trustee of both the National Horseracing Museum and Cambridge Women’s Aid and has enjoyed many big race successes with Gertrude Bell and Elusive Kate, but her finest hour was when Arctic Cosmos won the 2010 St Leger.


Carter Carnegie

Carnegie was appointed by Great British Racing in August 2013 and challenged with the task of attracting new foreign investment into the sport. Carnegie’s US-based company Metrical provides services to major international brands, including racing properties. He was previously, for 10 years, senior vice-president of the Breeders' Cup event and was responsible for generating significant business income during his tenure. In his 18 years of commercial sports development he has also worked on programmes affiliated with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Football League (NFL).
